    1. renewable certificates seem like BS. I guess paying utilities for certificates gives the utility more money, which might, if it feels generous for some unimaginable reason, lower rates for other customers, but basically, the electricity was going to be consumed anyway, and even if there were some accounting for electrons going to the mine, it just means that dirty energy is going somewhere else.
