This Video shows a video walkthrough of the public beta of the Unibright Framework. It shows how to create a smart contract without having to write a single line of code and connecting a SAP system to it to enhance a given release strategy by blockchain approvals.

    1. Apologies in advance as you may find my question very naive.

I am very new to Blockchain and it's integration with ERP namely SAP here. I have a question. It seems to me that in the PO shown in demo, the Release Strategy which is basically within SAP in traditional world, has been put into blockchain and now, all approvals takes places there.

      1. Does that mean that "Smart contracts" contain everything like the approval matrix – processing agents who would be approving the PO based on certain criteria like PO value, approval flow along with their emails etc?

      2. Can we add max processing time for each processor also in smart contracts so that the mail goes to next authority level if it's not actioned for say 2 days??

      Kindly suggest.

    2. thats all nice and fine, but each action requires transaction fees to be paid in ETH. One approval process is gonna cost hundreds of euros, which is just ludacris. How are you going to combat this?

    3. This is a redundant use and completely unnecessary use of the technology. SAP already has the workflow in it for PO approval. That is often the problem. Adding some sort of middle ware to be maintained and trained on when its completely not necessary. There is no value in adding feature to a system that already has the feature. It just creates problems. This is another example of block chain providing a solution to problem that doesn't exist. In fact, implementation of this particular process would create more headaches than it worth.

Now, if you had a connector for customers / vendors to sign off on the quality and process in real time and then a mechanism to share the data for analysis then that it might be useful. Probably even wouldn't have much a use case there either because the quality checks are supposed to be done internally before product or processes are delivered.

A UB connector for the SAP quality module to ensure that the process / product is the to the specification while delivering the associated data automatically solves a problem.
