    Mediterranean serving as the most
    convenient passage for Indian Ocean
    vessels to reach Europe and the Atlantic
    owned exclusively by Egypt since its
    completion it has brought tremendous
    economic benefits to Egypt among the
    countries between the Red Sea and the
    Mediterranean only Israel has the
    capability to compete with Egypt by
    constructing its own Canal they have
    also previously planned their own Canal
    project
