I've been thinking of starting a blog lately that will focus on providing great information to a specific audience where there's very little competition. However, I'm having doubts about its profitability in today's blogging condition.

My main concern starts from the challenges of monetization, particularly with the high rejection rates from AdSense, although I’ve been advised to try out some other platforms like Ezoic and Hydro Online but I’m still unsure. I understand that blogging isn't a get-rich-quick scheme, but I'm hoping to generate a decent income to support my family in the future, aiming for somewhere between $800 to $1500 per month as passive income alongside my other jobs.

I've had success building some websites for businesses selling products in the past but this would be my first dive into the world of blogging. Also, the Google updates have also left me questioning whether now is the right time to start.

I'd appreciate any advice or insights from anyone with experience with monetizing and marketing niche blogs. What strategies have worked for you and are there alternative monetization methods I should explore?

Honestly is blogging still profitable right now?

    1. Marketing is the real struggle here. You’ll have to push a lot of content on social media and even some targeted ads maybe

    2. Blogging needs to be coupled with some level of video content to be very effective. You can monetize in both ways by going that path!

800 to 1500 as passive income from blogging is crazy. Im fairly confident it takes a lot of time to build your own brand and public. In addition, you need to put out content frequently while having something valuable to say. Even if you could pull this out, its everything but passive. Am i missing something here?

The only way i can see this working is by monetizing your users through affiliate links and sponsorships. Whats your strategy?

Disclaimer, i do not blog so dont take my advice.

I won’t focus on making money from blogging, as I won’t focus on making money from YouTube only from posting videos.

I would focus on solving problems you know how to solve. Write about them on your blog, then repurpose the content on other social media channels such as LinkedIn, X, maybe Facebook. Then engage with your audience. Then start solving their problems.

I know YouTube accounts with 100K followers that don’t make much money, and I also know YouTube channels with 5K followers that make good money.

You’re highly unlikely to earn that amount. Maybe 1% of bloggers do. If there’s no competition, then probably no one needs the info. There is already too much free info available. There are easier ways to make money.

    6. I know a few people in the gardening space that are doing very well for themselves between ads and sponsorships.
id imagine in terms of cooking and interior design there is also money.
