I was trying to switch to progressive to save some money, but they’re denying my coverage due to something on my CLUE report. My wife and I have never been in an accident or received points on our licenses. The only time we used insurance was to replace a cracked windshield 2 years ago. Is there something wrong with my CLUE report or will insurance companies really deny coverage for something as small as a windshield claim?

I’m not sure what state you are in etc. but in CA Progressive has made not-at-fault incidents like a windshield claim a negative metric for agencies when writing new business. Essentially we were told a DUI is fine since they can surcharge for it but not-at-fault incidents with payouts are a no no for the time being. Bizarre on the surface but it sorta makes sense when you factor in the loss surcharges.

If you are working with an independent agent, just approach a different carrier. They all have different risk appetites at different times.
