Why do people always ask stupid questions like this. You can start your own damn business or just look at the operating revenue and decide if it’s worth your time.

I looked at buying a business last year and was like… Why I could easily just spend a small amount of money and create the same business from scratch.

So that’s what I did. At $2m in value no business has enough market traction that you couldn’t just recreate it.

Weather Company, no competition in the space. 10% of search traffic is related to the weather.

    4. I would buy as many shares or SCHD as I could with that, because I would then get paid about $100K per year in dividends 😀

I’ve been developing and designing a really cool electronic gadget last 8 months so probably will invest in my project and start mass production

    6. Get a realtors license ($1,000) I’d identify a geographical area with 5,000 houses of which atleast >7% sell yearly (350 houses). Make sure the average sales price in the area is good but not so high they take forever to sell, say $450,000.

I’d mail postcards to those 5,000 houses. 2 postcards per month the first 3 months, then 1 postcards every 3 weeks forever. ($2,750 p/m).

I would list at least 10% of those houses that sell yearly (35 houses) and 70% of the houses I list would sell (25 houses). I’d earn a commission of $337,500.

The following year I’d list 20%, and then 30% the third year.

Use the rest of the money to buy 3 suits for appointments (1 Brioni, 1 Kiton, 1 from Savile Row) and a 911 GT4S, some cocaine, a strippers rent, my moms mortgage, an admin assistant ($400 per transaction).

I’d get into a cannabis cafe shop, I think once the law opens the doors for selling cannabis food(not candies and such) it will be super popular. The cannabis trade is really new still so there are so many ways to tap into it.

However, with t-bills over 5% I would rather park that money and live for free for a few years until I had to work. 5% of $2mm is $100k a year.

It’s better to find a problem to solve, then figure out how much money you need, than to start with the money as an inspiration for the product.

So, I would put the money in easily liquid investments. Then I’d live off the dividends while I upskill and look for a business idea or investment opportunity.

I’d put it all into CD’s and get an easy job that you enjoy to stay busy.

I am a software engineer that likes eating chicken breast. Always wanted to grow my own organic chickens but I’m too lazy to feed them, chase them etc. So I figured out a solution for integrating automation on the whole process of organic chicken farming. I would probably turn that into a reality.

The very best way to make a small fortune … is to start off with a large one.
Henry Ford said never get into a business you know nothing about. From experience that is the best advice ever.
