I’m so confused about my car insurance and what I should have coverage for and which companies are the best… I am paying a ridiculous amount for car insurance and I don’t know if it’s something to do with my car make/year and the fact that I’m under 25 and have only had my license for two years, or if I just have selected more coverage than I need. I don’t have any parents to help me out. My friend’s dad is the one who helped me when I first got insurance, but I don’t know if he really knew what he was doing either…
My car is a 2007 Toyota Camry (valued at around $4000). I have a clean driving record, have never gotten in an accident or gotten a ticket. I currently use Geico insurance and it’s a whopping $930 for 6 months and it will go up $200 when I officially move to a different neighborhood. I’m a student, I don’t get any help with my expenses, and I live off of a work-study wage. I can’t keep paying this much money every six months. It’s too much.
The coverage I currently have is:

    50,000/100,000 bodily injury liability
    24,000 property damage liability
    40,000 basic personal injury protection
    25,000/50,000 uninsured motorist bodily injury
    25,000/50,000 Underinsured motorist
    250 deductible comprehensive
    500 deductible collision

I genuinely don’t understand most of what those numbers mean. I’ve tried to learn, but it’s really confusing to me for some reason… I feel so incompetent for not being able to figure this out! Does anyone have any input or advice???
