Hello everyone,

I will be going active duty this year as an army officer. I am married and am wondering what you would do in my shoes as a freshly commissioned officer. I am leaving school with about $19,500 in student loans and starting fresh financially. I worked full-time through school and didn’t make quite enough to have any type of savings with rent, etc. Thanks for all you guys and gals do for others.

    1. Follow the flowchart in this FAQ (which links you to r/personalfinance) and you’ll be fine.

    2. career starter loan also good and can just throw that into your student loan as a mini refinance

What’s the interest rate and monthly payment for your student loans? I assume you are going on the standard 10 year payment plan?
