I have a brand new 2024 truck that is valued at approx 70k. I have less than 1000 miles on it. Yesterday my neighbor, SOMEHOW came crashing into my driveway, hitting my brand new truck head on. It’s our belief that his 15 year old was driving from something he said, but we cannot prove this. My 3/4 ton truck was hit so hard that he moved it 9” in my driveway. My truck was parked and fully in my driveway. It was suggested that I start a diminished value claim and I have no idea how to even begin. The body shop won’t even be able to look at it until mid June. I saved and went from driving a 99 Suburban for decades to this new truck. Now it will always be a crashed truck. Also, he did significant damage, it’s not just body parts. The main frame has been pushed into the radiator and it sound like a helicopter taking off, it’s undriveable.
