So…I'm wondering what exactly constitutes using my car for work (for insurance purposes).

For example, pretty obviously I can drive to work. Also pretty obviously, I can't use my vehicle for a delivery service (well, I can, but that's using it for work).

But what about if my company has four offices and I drive between them during the day, but then do work in the offices? What if my employer wants me to go to a meeting cross-town? Or if I routinely go to meetings cross-town?

Just trying to figure out what is the line… Thanks.

It can get a little wonky in these situations. If you are hurt in a car accident while driving from point A to point B, both being work places, work comp may come into play.

If you are just driving across town for a meeting with nothing out of the ordinary, items to sell or anything like that, you should be okay on your personal policy. When you get into carrying things is when you get into problems with personal insurance.

There’s a bunch of different variables in your scenarios that make it hard to answer on an online forum like this.

If you are a punched in, and on the clock, and are driving your vehicle between company locations, then it seems obvious you are using your personal vehicle for company business.

      Right?

I suggested, only your insurance company can answer this question correctly.
