Cutting lawns. Friends and I would work on it together. We both lived in different parts of towns so we worked in my neighborhood and his.

We also used to hustle kids in basketball like in the movie White Man Can’t Jump. I got banned from a few different gyms.

    2. Cooler + dry ice + ice cream bars/sammiches/treats + wagon = neighborhood ice cream cart = $$$$

    3. Flipping cars on fb marketplace.  Had an unfair source for vehicles though since my dad was a car dealer.  Leverage your advantages!

I had two ‘kid’ businesses. First was a snow removal subscription service, second was a lawn & yard work business. I worked as much as I wanted and then some. Made decent money at both.

Snowcone stand. My 17 owns her own now too. She employs all her friends and makes a killing all summer long.

Window cleaning used to be pretty good too. My brothers all did it and made great money.

    7. I made presentation folders or rare 18th Japanese art and then mailed them out to rich CEOs. So foam boards, fancy folders, binding…

At the age of 14, this job helped me realize that I don’t want to do that and that some art collectors are dickbeards.

I was a ‘toffee girl’ – so I’d knock on doors to sell different kinds of toffee. Don’t know how I managed to do it as I’m the least salesy person I know and hate approaching people!

A fatty. Could nail 3 family sized bags of minstrels & a large bottle of Mountain Dew in a night.

Keeping the shelves tidy in a supermarket. Although simple tasks, I got to work under a strict, fair, effective, and enthusiastic leader. A rolemodel for how workplaces should work with a good leader

      Depends on the exact age.

      – I worked in a tiny computer repair shop starting between 8th grade and high school. Very steady work, but it was a cramped, old, dusty place! I didn’t get paid very well but I learned a _ton_. This was probably one of my more formative jobs now that I think about it.

      – I did basic yard work. Cut grass, picked up sticks, weeded landscaping.

I worked at a resort as busboy in their dining room from Memorial Day to Labor Day. I cleaned up every summer.

My kids were camp counselors at a day camp.
My daughter later become a lifeguard then a lifeguard certifier who gave instruction and certifications to other would be lifeguards.

    13. Developing and selling Minecraft server plugins in Java for $50 each back when I was 14!

    14. My favorite summer job that paid well (for the mid-80s) was cleaning two large city pools. There was a river near the pool, and partiers would toss fish into the pool at night, but the chlorine would kill the fish by the morning. I used a large canister-style vacuum to clean both pools. It came in before anyone else was there, worked a few hours, and got a nice tan. It was the perfect summer job as a teenager.

    15. Not me but my best friend in high school (junior /senior years) was a cabana boy for a private beach club. In the 3 months of the season, he pulled in 45-50k. Rich people love flexing how well they take care of their cabana folks

    16. last summer i pressure washed garbage cans for $20 a pot, set up a monthly reoccurring payment and made absolute bank. Going to do the same this summer

At 18, I was going to ASU. I bought hookahs from a wholesale supplier in bulk & sold them to freshman for full price, but I delivered directly to their dorms.

      No tobacco, just the pipe.

      Easily a $60 markup.

Also sold (illegally) tobacco & weed.

Nice upsell opportunity as most hookah smokers liked weed, too.

Make like 60k that year. Not bad for part-time income.
