I'm just curious how do you find a skill you're good at that is at least sellable to others? I don't want to bore people with too much of my details, but I'm 40 and have failed everything I've done past maybe getting my degree online 5 years ago because I was motivated to travel. I then traveled overseas and had a pretty big breakdown as I realized I couldn't teach with ADHD and anxiety. I tried to get out of teaching back home, but to avoid stuff like retail, I moved on to a support role as a teacher assistant. It's very fun doing that, but the pay isn't a career level job.

Some other skills: Video game addiction, but I barely have any time for it, sadly- if I had a million, that's all I would do is get a tiny house and just game all the time. I did graphic design in community college- okay on the technical side as I was the only one that would measure things out, but I was terrible where it counted the creativity. Also, I recently got into growing shrooms for my depression, half of which usually fails- I can only see this being a thing if they legalize the stuff eventually, but that won't be for a while.

The only thing people have complimented me on is my housekeeping skills – Actually speaking that, when I trashed that apartment overseas because I was too lazy to keep up with the recycling, I cleaned the place up on a weekend. The director said you're very good at cleaning up, you should do that but teaching isn't your gift.

IDk, I look at Entrepreneurs, and a lot of it is people who have truly gifted skills usually backed up by job experience, such as trades or web design. I sort of look at myself for a skill like that and realize I offer nothing on that scale. I was wondering if maybe there is a way to find something you are good at and is marketable to others. Maybe im overlooking something, but usally everything i touch pretty much breaks and I get yelled at!

I looked at what I’m good at and enjoy at my job, I looked at what friends, family and my church asks for my skills/expertise in and I asked family what they see that I’m good at. The results of each of those was mostly the same so I thought about how people or businesses would benefit from my skills, then I adjusted to focus on the aspects of my work that I enjoy the most and finally adjusted it to fit within licensing/certifications I could obtain fairly immediately.

    2. 1. Think of something people around you ask for your help with and figure out how to monetize it.
      2. Trial and error.

    3. I would recommend reaching out to 5-10 people (just text or call them) and ask them what they think you’re good at!

If you like video game stuff and have some programming experience maybe develop a video game. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy but do it for yourself and find enjoyment in the idea that you did it for you, not other’s approval. YouTube has tons of helpful guides. A guy names PirateSoftware on YouTube has a lot of good tips!
