Just curious. Have to shut down my lawn care business because I'm moving to a smaller town of 125k. Honestly, I'm pretty bummed because it was my get of the 9-5 card and I'm going to have to start over.

Any service based businesses making good money in a town of 125k or less? If so, what do you do?

    1. Is the town in the middle of nowhere? Are there no surrounding towns you can also service?

    2. Also, even in a small town i think you may still be able to make a decent living depending on how much competition you have. If you do good business, in a small town word gets around, and you may be able to monopolize the area.

      I’m in a town of 86k.

Service based business. (Mobile DJ, photo booths, event lighting).

Half of my revenue is weddings, (May thru October, Fridays & Saturdays)

The other half is bar trivia/music bingo. (Year round, Sunday thru Thursday).

We also do proms in the spring, and Christmas/holiday parties in the winter.

47 part time employees, 2000+ events per year.

I mean, I doubt you are currently doing anywhere near 125K clients now, wherever you are.

Just do what you did before. A town of 125K is still alot of lawns, more than you could ever handle on your own.

Even better, if your currently successful, don’t shut down – simply hire someone to run that city, you keep a percentage, they get a ready to go client base

    5. That’s what, 30,000 lawns maybe? How many clients do you think you need?

How do you like getting into software development industry. I’m from india who’s looking for business partner from US to start a software development company based in the india. I can tell you that the Profit potential is huge. I have bootcamp trained developers of all kinds of tech stack with me( full stack developers, mobile app developers, data analysts/scientists and even graphic designers & digital marketing professionals). You get clients from there and i’d manage the work here.
Profitability of outsourcing to india is huge.
For eg: Average entry level salary of a software developer in USA is $65k per year. With that money i can get 7 excellent software developers from India. Because here $8k per year is a decent salary.
Hit me up if you’re interested. I assure you This has a huge potential.
