I am writing to ask about the best strategies for students using transferred Post 9/11 GI Bill Benefits. This would include using a limited amount of benefits to secure and retain in-state tuition rates. This could also include trying to maximize scholarships and minimize use of GI Bill benefits for undergraduate education in order to save them for Graduate/Professional Education (Law, Medical, MBA, etc). Please let us know what works…

    1. Well…of course scholarships are better as it retains your bill. Depends on your goals, as that might be out of pocket for living expenses.

      There really aren’t any “hacks”. Use your entitlement as you see fit.

      Choice Act of 2014 requires public schools to grant in-state tuition to those using Post 9/11 GI Bill, MGIB, VR&E and DEA CH 35.
