I currently work at a SaaS startup and things are going good. My lil brother recently told me about his idea to start a business in high-end menswear and has asked me to partner up with him but at the moment I'm swamped as the startup I work with is beginning to kick up.

Still, I'm interested because I'm a big fashion head. What should I know? How realistic is this idea and what precautions should I take? He's looking to make a big online presence and create his own website and possible an app along the way (It was a whole pitch)

What advice would you give to someone who going out of comfort zone to start out as an entrepreneur?

Learn to find the signal in the noise.

Cut through the noise. It will be everywhere. You will hear it from everyone. Doesn’t mean it’s bad, just learn to decipher the language!

    2. Stepping out of your comfort zone to become an entrepreneur is daunting but immensely rewarding.

One piece of advice, don’t try to do it all yourself. Once upon a time, I tried to hire developers because I needed them for a new idea for my startup. I have no technical skills so that was the first mistake, I could have just outsourced it but nah I tried to do it all myself and hired wrongly. I ended up spending almost $5,000 in a span of two months for some horrible build. I discovered this non-profit platform that is non-tech friendly. Here I hired talented developers who have been vetted, tested, and aligned with my project needs allowing me to focus on my vision and strategy while they handle the technical aspects. This solution made my entrepreneurial journey smoother and more successful.

What’s there for you to lose at this point? If you have the time and money to start a business (and believe in your brother’s idea/vision), then give it a shot

Research the market, create a solid business plan, and secure funding. Build a strong online presence and manage your time carefully since you’re already busy. Make sure you and your brother are on the same page.
