In Arizona. Was shopping around for new auto/homeowner's insurance and State Farm gave me a low quote for auto but would not insure my house. They don't say why but I assume its because my credit is horrible. I've never had a homeowner claim and payment has always just come out of my mortgage escrow. So credit is the only thing i can think of.
Anyway, if I drop my Progressive auto coverage but keep homeowners, is there much of a chance they would drop me? I would not think so but it would really suck to lose my homeowners insurance and no one else willing to pick it up. I know Progressive uses a third party for homeowners also.
Any reason Progressive would drop my homeowners if I switch my auto to another company?

It’s unlikely that Progressive would drop your homeowners insurance just because you switch your auto coverage to another company. But it’s a good idea to double-check your policy details and maybe have a chat with them directly to clear up any concerns you might have about making changes to your coverage.
It’s unlikely they do it as a direct result but there’s indirect things that could affect it. For example it’s likely you’re getting a multi policy discount, and removing your Auto could have adverse impacts on your home that you’re not expecting.
It could be credit but most likely state farm has a capacity or wildfire concern in your zip code.
You would lose a bundled rate you have. Make sure the probable home owners increase isnt higher than the auto savings.
If it was your credit they wouldn’t have insured your auto either
Possibly. Why? Because you are going from a bundle to a mono-line policy.
It’s not the usual reason as to why carriers drop a policy but we are seeing it more and more in the market right now.
ASI or American Strategic Insurance is likely the company you are insured with. If it isn’t, then it’s through their internal brokerage and, if that’s the case, moving your auto may have less negative effects.
Some companies in some areas are only insuring homes if the bundle the policies. No idea about your specific situation or Arizona though
State farm would not make you ineligible simply for having bad credit.
Unlikely a drop but could definitely lose discounts. Get a broker to shop all your coverage as a unit to make sure you actually get the best deal.
