    2. Just watch interviews of actual businessmen that don’t “do YouTube”.

      The Passionate Few interviews a lot of of successful business owners years ago… There’s a couple of guys that do quick interviews on the street with real, genuine wealthy individuals… Those are the real gold nuggets.

      All YouTubers that give “free advice” really have something to sell you. Yes, including Hormozi.

    3. There’s nothing ***inherently*** untrustworthy about someone who is giving out free information on YouTube while also selling a course. The problem is just that there is no barrier to entry to creating courses, and there are a lot of charlatans who take advantage of that fact. “Wealth, health, and love” are also three things people universally want, so the charlatans are attracted to those areas (in this case, business/finance.)

      You have to use critical thinking and judge each creator by their own merits. If someone is claiming to be a successful entrepreneur, see what their ***non-course business*** actually is. Does it look legit? Is it selling a real product? Does it have good reviews? Has it been around for years and built up a good reputation? etc.

      Legitimately successful entrepreneurs typically do not have the time to script, record, edit, and promote hours of free YouTube content for nothing in return. They’re going to want to monetize that effort, as any good businessperson would.

      With all this in mind, it’s not a bad idea to look beyond YouTube to find successful entrepreneurs as there are WAY more people with successful businesses who DON’T have YouTube channels than vice versa.

      Here’s what I mean. I’ve been running a small business in a cottage industry for 15 years. I don’t have a YouTube channel that discusses how I run the business. However, I’ve given probably a few dozen talks at universities, conventions, and other events. I don’t mind spending a couple hours of time to talk to people face to face, and answer questions one-on-one afterward. It’s an easier ask than spending orders of magnitude more time creating and trying to monetize a YouTube channel.

      I analyze the persons journey. It’s easy to spot corner cutters. Substance has details vs exaggerated wins and scarcity/fear marketing.

      The most successful people has a string of failed attempts and they can express the nuances, challenges and frustrations with ease because that’s what shaped their character.

      Ali Abdaal is awesome. I also like Alex Hermozi. He recently did a video on different ways to make money and really broke down business valuation well.
