On average, how much you make monthly?

How many hours do you put in weekly?

How many resumes are you able to finish in a given day?

    How are you getting clients?

What tools are you using to keep track of clients resumes etc?

I have 10 years as a Recruiter and was thinking of starting my own resume writing business. I appreciate any insight!

That’s a great initiative! Building on your prior experience to start a business can be rewarding and fulfilling. While I don’t personally own a resume writing business, I can offer some general insights that might help.

The profitability of a resume writing business can vary based on several factors, including your experience, speed, demand, and pricing strategy. Some professional resume writers charge anywhere from $100 to $2,000 per resume, depending on the client’s career level. So achieving a six-figure income could be possible if you have a steady stream of clients and charge competitive rates. Also, consider offering packages that include cover letters or LinkedIn profile makeovers to increase your income potential.

Professionals in this industry have shared that they usually spend anywhere from 2 to 5 hours per resume, depending on client needs and career history. Hence, you could realistically handle several resumes in a day if you’re experienced and efficient.

For finding clients, networking and referral marketing can be very effective. You can leverage LinkedIn and other social media platforms to price your services and showcase testimonials. As a former recruiter, you likely already have a great network to tap into.

For management, there are a variety of CRM tools out there that allow you to manage client information, and project management tools can help keep track of tasks and deadlines. Some resume writers also use specialized software to help optimize resumes for Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).

Of course, these are just some general insights. I’d suggest reaching out directly to established professional resume writers or joining industry groups to get more specific, experiential insights. Wishing you all the best on your journey.

    4. I’m not trying to promote the following. Just used it a bit last year with success. Rezi.ai

I was getting interviews off those resumes very consistently. What issues do you see with their product.

I liked ease of use, ability of control, cost and end product.

    5. Hello, I am the founder of Rezi – the leading ai resume builder.

Our monthly revenue is about $250K from subscriptions. Our strategy is SEO and a tiny bit of performance marketing.

The market is highly competitive (you’ll have to compete against Rezi) so the most important factor of success is product experience and determination of the team/founder.
