I just got into an accident. I was going straight on a local street and the other driver hit my car as he was trying to do a u-turn. He didn’t see me because he was watching his countries final soccer game.
Anyways, I got his info; however, it turns out that he only has a foreign ID and the car had temp plates (he purchased a used car).
We spoke a bit and he said that he’d meet me at a shop and pay for the full damage.
My question is, should I contact my insurance (GEICO) and inform them what happened or will that go against me in the case that I’d have to report it as a hit and run?

Why would you report it as a hit and run? The driver stopped.
