Not at fault, but got into a fender bender. Small business owned truck, owner keeps offering money and trying to negotiate a price to avoid insurance penalties.

I haven’t said anything or responded to any of his offers at all. In fear that if I do, and he doesn’t pay, the insurance will be like ‘well you guys shook hands on it we aren’t getting involved.’ Knocked a reflector off, the damage really isn’t awful or pricey. I don’t care how the money falls in my hands to pay it either way. But would agreeing on their offer void insurance responsibility if they don’t pay personally?
