Alibaba is meant for foreigners. There are own platforms for China. Anything you buy IN China is cheaper than platforms meant for international customers. Business negotiations are always better in person, face to face than via internet/phone. Meaning, gives you the best price
Most people can’t just “go to China” my friend.
Have you gotten lower prices by visiting vendors that are on Alibaba? Or did you find vendors in China that are not on Alibaba to get those prices?
Tell us that you don’t understand commerce.
I can go to a farm and buy milk. No middlemen, just me and the cow and a very long drive and a lot of arrangements to be made to transport the product home without leaking or getting too hot or whatever else happens to milk.
Or I can go to the Safeway and buy a product in a sealed container that I know has been pasteurized, I know the milkfat percentage, I mostly know how long will last in the fridge, I know exactly what it costs today and pretty much what I can expect it to cost tomorrow, and I can be there and home within 20 minutes including parking.
