So I just commissioned USN and I have BDOC in San Diego, which is also where my ship is. Do I get San Diego BAH when I check in to the BDOC schoolhouse, or does that get postponed until I actually check into the ship? DoD FMR and JTR were nebulous on this subject.
Do I get BAH if my TDY location and PDS location are in the same place?

I’m in a different branch but if you report to your PDS first then TDY you should get BAH. If you tdy enroute to PDS then no.
Yes San Diego BAH will start the day you check into school house if PDS and TDY are in same PDS. It’s on your BUPERS orders too.
