Today I hit someone when the person in front of them slammed their brakes. The damage was pretty minimal, when we stopped to look at it they said they didn’t want my insurance or info since it was a small scratch and dent. I’m just concerned if they change their mind it could come back to me somehow. Should I do anything with my insurance for this or leave it be?

Technically speaking, your insurance policy likely dictates that you will alert your insurance company to any accident that you get into. And yes, this other party could change their mind and try to file a claim down the road. So should you alert your insurance carrier? Yeah, you are supposed to.
