Howdy All;

    I would really like to have a better understanding about an insurance situation. my cousin just got a fake driving record from El Salvador. ( from an insurance agent locally ) seems that the insurance agent used white out on an original document from El Salvador and changed the name and personals information to match my cousins and its a perfect duplicate in every sense. ITS EVEN NOTORIZED AND TRANSLATED ! it brought his insurance down significantly. what i want to know is if in the case of an accident and he submits a claim if the insurance company would be able to see its a fake ??? do they dig in that deep ? and if so what are the consequences ?

    Fake Foreign Driving Record consequences ???

    1. Is this for a current policy in the US? or a current policy in El Salvador?

    2. >do they dig in that deep ?

      Depending upon the circumstances, definitely. I’ve personally had multiple claims in the last three years that I’ve denied due to finding out someone wasn’t the owner of their vehicle, or didn’t live in the household, or used a personal policy when they should have had a business policy.

      Whiteout can usually be detected on a forged document with a bit of scrutiny. Not saying it definitely will, but a car accident claim is the worst time to test the waters.

      At best, your cousin’s claim is denied and the policy is canceled to the date of inception.

      At worst, your cousin is injured by another party in an accident and unable to recover the cost of treatment from that party for whatever reason. Then his auto insurance denies your cousin’s claim, cancels policy to inception, and then your cousin faces insurance fraud charges.

    3. What a great agent you have, I mean cousin.  Supports fraudulent applications and willing to even put a notary in a worse position to save a customer some money but risk a policy rescission when found out by the carrier.
