Okay, so I bought my first vehicle a Toyota Tundra Hybrid 2024. I have always had old vehicles who if I crashed would be a total loss as they're not worth much anymore so my insurance has been easy. I called Progressive to add my new vehicle and everyone around me is surprised by my low rate so now I am scared I did not choose the appropriate coverage as the agent said they are not allowed to give any personal input just explain what it is.

    I am in Arizona.

I will add a picture in the comments of my coverage; $750 deductible for both comprehensive & collision & I also added glass coverage.

I bought my first car & I’m so lost on insurance coverage please help!

    1. You need to call a different company if they say they cannot provide feedback and advice on coverage. It’s literally their job to explain it to you lmao. You may have spoken to a super brand new employee

For example, your liability limits are horrifically low. Think about the cost of what you paid for your vehicle.

If someone with your policy hit you, the max they could offer is $15k which is clearly not enough and would likely get you pursued by an insurance company for reimbursement, potentially even sued

Since you’re brand new to having nice vehicles, you should sit with an agent and be upfront that you would like them to explain everything to you. Those 15 minutes will save you hours of stress across your life lol

    2. I would suggest comprehensive and collision coverage. They’ll require it if you have a loan.

You need to look at your liability limits. You want AT LEAST 50,000/100,000 for injury and 50,000 for property damage.

It could be that you have a safe record, good credit and a safer car! Everyone has different rate factors.

You need no less then 100/300 and 100 pd, match um/uim too many people don’t have insurance, CA is 17% and not the highest, just think someone hits you with no insurance and now need medical and pain and suffering..
