A friend of my wife's was trying to sell her LLC services. We said no, but she said that an umbrella policy was a waste of money because the companies never will pay any claims on it.

    Anything to this?

    Umbrella, is it worth it?

The odds of paying out on it are lower than a normal policy, but we absolutely do pay out on them.

Think about how much in assets you have. Get a quote on how cheap it is to get hundreds of thousands if not a million dollars or more of coverage and make the decision yourself based off of your appetite of risk.

    3. Why did she say that? Was she being held liable directly after exhaustion of any policy limits? If not, then I don’t understand why someone would say that.

Well umbrella is absolutely necessary today especially if you leave online review.

    5. With assets and a business you should have both. But LLCs are DIY in many states.
