So stupidly I forgot to change the address on my motor insurance when we moved house at the end of last year.

I did change it on my V5C and for car tax, but it just slipped my mind.

Our new address is literally one road across from our old address. Yesterday when reversing out our drive I clipped into the rear of my neighbours new car. I reported it through to my insurance in any case as the costs could rack up it seems.

I realised when reporting it through my address was not my new address with my insurer. They noted this and changed it but said they would have to refer to underwriters due to the change.

Is there a chance they won’t cover the claim? Money is quite tight at the moment and I just couldn’t afford to pay for it on my own. Really stressing here and any help would be appreciated.

Forgot to change address on motor insurance… had an accident – am I in trouble? (UK)
