Hi, I used limit orders to buy $HPE options today. The bid ask spread was at $1.0-$1.1 with the mid being $1.05

I set a limit buy order on IBKR mobile app at $1.04 and waited for few seconds but it didn't get filled. I then increased the limit buy price to the mid, which is $1.05 and it immediately got filled at the same price.

I then immediately set a limit order for $1.05 on Fidelity and it got filled for $1.02. This kind of better fills happened on Friday today, with $HPE options.

Can you let me know how can I get similar improved price fills on IBKR ? Is it only available on desktop or mobile too ?

I never observed IBKR filling better than Robinhood too. So, I am perplexed, as I keep reading that IBKR price fills are very good.

Fidelity gives better fills than IBKR on mobile.

    1. I imagine it’s due to a mix of pay for order flow and Fidelity being able to offer a full service brokerage firm and picking up the cents along the way
