    1. Not inherently. As long as you can afford it in the event of an emergency, looks like you can save a decent chunk of money, presumably $300 a year if that’s a six month term. You’ll “break even” in a year and a half

      You shouldn’t file small claims anyways

      Can you afford $1000 if there’s a crash or incident where your deductible would apply? If you do, then the savings is likely worth it.

      Are you able to come up with $1000 easily on short notice? If yes, then sure, it’s a fine deductible. If no, then, no, your deductible needs to be something manageable.

      If something were to happen to your car tomorrow, how much do you think you can comfortably come up with immediately for the repair? That answer is what your deductible should be.
