Can you afford $1000 if there’s a crash or incident where your deductible would apply? If you do, then the savings is likely worth it.

Are you able to come up with $1000 easily on short notice? If yes, then sure, it’s a fine deductible. If no, then, no, your deductible needs to be something manageable.
