No. They just finally accept that inflation compound. And that 2% this year inflation doesn’t erase last three years 20% compounded one.

I tried explaining this exact thing to the people I work with the other week and they looked at me blankly ๐

The wording they use is specifically to fool people โinflation has fallenโ no, inflation is rising at a slower rate than it was.

Not sure why anyone is surprised by this.

The fact i paid as low as $1.29 for eggs and $3.99 for bacon just few short years ago, and i now pay a minimum of $2.99 and $7.99, is what made it obvious to me. Everything has doubled or tripled in the grocery store. If eggs were only up 30% Iโd be paying $1.68โฆnot $3.
But if I complain about this, there is always those defenders who go โbut dUh gOvErMaNt sAid inFLatiOn onlY up 10-30%. ThAt jUsT uR LoCal ArEA. itS 10-30% evErYwheRe ELseโ
Then they eat crayons and shit their pants (presumably)

Wait until they explain how the basket of goods that inflation is based upon changes every year and can hide inflationary pressures as it switches in substitute products.
