Hello, recently I had a handy man come through the house to get tiles installed over the sink. He had to take off the dry wall and the insulation turned out to be saturated so he also took that off. We ended up finding the wall behind COVERED with mold and all black, our handyman was telling us that there was an issue with the homebuilders apparently the pitch of the sink was installed wrong by the builders. We asked and they said we only had structural warranty left. Who should we call and what do we say?

Call the local building inspection department and ask how they allowed the home to pass inspection with this kind of problem. Someone other than you needs to take responsibility.

Before you call anybody you need to have some understanding of what has happened.

Did the handyman describe what it was about the “pitch of the sink” that caused the problem and how did the “pitch of the sing” relate to a wall full of mold?

      >We ended up finding the wall behind COVERED with mold

What does that mean? Floor to ceiling? Corner to corner? Smaller area? Where in relation to the sink itself?

I’m asking the questions because somebody will be asking those questions if you accuse them and ask for money.
