So this is kind of a long story. I was rear-ended about a month ago in Pittsburgh. Called in the claim right away, took my car to an Allstate-network shop. Took a few days for them to look at it and get everything together before they could send the virtual report into allstate. During this time, we did not take advantage of the rental car. I am supposed to have 30 days of rental. I called to make sure I could start that later because for the first week after the accident, we didnt need the rental because we had my mother in laws van. Once she needed that back , we needed a car so I contacted Allstate AND Enterprise and set up a rental. They kept telling me I was covered for 30 days. They ended up totalling our other car. We are still waiting on a check and in the meantime have had the rental. I have checked in twice to make sure I was still ok to have it. Then I talk to my agent today and she is telling me that since they aren't repairing my other car, I was only allowed to have the rental for 5 days and I have had it for 14. I called Enterprise and asked them WTF and why they told me I was covered for longer than five days. They just kept telling me that Allstate told them I was covered until June 17 (three days from now) and that I wouldn't owe full rate for all the days past 5 that I have had it. I don't know who is right and who is wrong. Will I end up with a huge bill later for the extra car rental days? Enterprise told me that if I did it wouldn't come from them. I am so mad and frustrated and can't underdtand why I am being told different things.

is this the person who sold you your policy, or the person who is handling your claim?

    2. You don’t have 30 days of coverage, it’s actual up to 30 days or until your car is repaired and or deemed a total loss. If a total loss, you are usually given a few days extra of rental until the settlement payment is sent. At that point your rental coverage ends. Each insurance company handles the grace rental after settlement differently. Where worked, we extended 2-3 days but no more than 5 as we took into consideration weekends after total loss settlement.
Read your insurance policy contract rental section.
Just because it states up to 30 days max, does not mean you get a full 30 days on every claim. I bet it states up to vehicle being repaired/settlement made.

You are covered for “UP TO” 30 days. Once your claim is resolved, your RAC gets terminated.
