I was recently robbed in the south of France. I immediately tried to ring the police but they weren’t helpful. I went to the nearest police station to file a complaint but they couldn’t open one as they don’t know English and required a translator and requested to return the next day. However, I said I needed to form of documentation as I needed to fly to Paris to get a travel document back to London. One guy was kind as to draft a documents saying my bag was stolen but this is not a complaint. I flew to Paris but had to stay there the entire weekend until the embassy opens on Monday. I flew back to nice on Monday to file a formal complaint however, they didn’t provide a reference number and they just stamped the statement form and said someone would be in contact when the investigation starts. I was flying out the next day. I have an insuarance that covers the goods that were stolen. Do you think the statements and initial delectation will suffice as sufficient documentation?

    Wrong police report.
