Hello, and thank you in advance for any and all information. I have now ETS’d from the army as of May 16,2024. My transition leave started 1 March. I have been told different answers. The brief I attended had stated I will be receiving the BAH rate of my home of record which is where I was as start of my leave until my last day. (DA 31 also had the same address). I haven’t received anything, and decided to check with my S1 other to be told finance had declined my paperwork. Their reasoning was they labeled me as a bachelor. So, that the change of rate will not be happening. Left Fort Carson and now in San Diego. Any recommendations on how to appeal?

    Thank you again. Cheers!

    1. You will continue getting BAH for your duty location, not your Leave location.

See DoD FMR, Volume 7a, Chapter 26, the section on Member in Transit.
