I was in a very minor accident last month, just a dented quarter panel and popped clips on the bumper. The body shop has had my car for 2 weeks while claiming the holdup is due to the shipping codes for my license plate lights getting hacked. Yeah sure, sounds like one of the bozos forgot to order it. The bodywork and paint are already finished. Its an insurance job so is there any way I could request my car back today and return for them to replace the lights when they come in? Or just refuse that part of the repair and just the lights done myself? I'd rather not go through another 90 degree week in my beater with no AC. Been in the shop since June 6, estimate been done since mid May.

    1. you can ask for it back, but not having those lights could get you pulled over. also depends on if its your shop or the shop insurance partners with. your shop the insurance has no say, insurance shop-complain to the adjuster
