Yemen’s Houthis claimed that they had attacked two civilian ships along with an American destroyer in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea on June 16. In a statement, the Houthi military spokesperson said the group fired ballistic missiles at the American destroyer, naval missiles at a ship. Sarea also said the group also attacked a ship called the Happy Condor in the Arabian Sea with drones. The extent of the damage on the US destroyer and the other two ships, if any, remains unclear. On June 16, the UKMTO* said that a vessel 40 nautical miles south of Yemen’s al Mukha had reported two explosions nearby. Watch the vidoe to find out more.

Rules of the seas state that one must answer a distress call, it’s a breach of International Law, therefore illegal but, I don’t expect the ignoramus commenters to understand that.

Perhaps the reason why the Iranians ignored the distress call from the ship was due to the fact that this ship was one that violated the Houthis demand of doing business with Israel. I don't think that under any other circumstance Iran would have ignored a ship in distress.
