Should I be worried?

Hi all.

Hope we are well. I live in England

About a month ago, I was parked up on my street and a van reversed into the back of my car and damaged it quite badly. I was getting quoted thousands to repair which I could never afford. The driver of the van gave me his details and drove away.

I took as many pictures as I could and as I’m still a first year driver I have a block box which proves that my car was stationary all day.

On the first email I got which I assume is a standard response Hastings said as I’m not liable as I’m not at fault.

Now they’re asking for CCTV or a witness. Should I be worried?. My neighbour who is 90 did see it and they’ve sent her a questionnaire with 50+ questions and to sketch pictures. No way can I expect her to do that.
