So Im helping out one of my young go getter leaders who unfortunately didnt do too well on the boards and is being seperated due to receiving 2 'P's.
He was a bit bummed but has comes to terms with it and created an opportunity for himself for his next chapter, but he did run into an issue.
His DD 214 did mention he rates full seps pay, which came a little north of $90K mark, but was informed that he'll only be receing $40ishK.
When he asked disbursing the 'why', they didnt necessarily have a good answer other than 'maybe taxes'.
I was wondering if that was truly a thing.
He is a California resident, which I get a feeling that is what crux of it may be.
