I am EAS’ing from the Marines and doing a Personally Procured Move (PPM) which used to be called a Do It Yourself (DITY) move. I was getting bounced around between DMO, Finance, and IPAC trying to get the 60% advanced payment for my move as I’ve paid about $5,000 out of pocket for a moving truck with empty and full weight tickets.

After sitting on my submitted package for two weeks, Finance that I need IPAC to upload my required paperwork (that I had in hand and filled out) in order for Finance to process the payout. So I went to IPAC and they said the Marine Corps is no longer approving advance payments and it will all be paid out after I have reached my destination and submitted the final paperwork.

Has any other Marine run into this issue?

I can move money out of a HYSA to cover the costs, but it is a bit annoying that I will lose 4+ weeks of interest.

No Advance Payment for PPM (DITY) Moves in the Marines?
