Hey fellow regards,

I normally don’t interact with this sub but I wanted to get some opinions because I’m a horrible investor and a full stop moron. BUT! I had a notion hit me the other day after watching the congressional hearing with the Boeing CEO. It is very clear that the reputational damage that has been done to Boeing will take a long time to repair. So what about the competition such as Air Bus? From my limited knowledge of the aviation world they are the primary competitor, would they not likely receive a progressive uptick in their sales for the foreseeable future? I would think so but the problem is there stock has taken a substantial dip recently so my theory might not be all that smart. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Since Ive already lost $2k from this sub I figured let’s keep that ball rolling.

I think it will do fine over the next few years but I don’t think its worth a buy. Better uses of money out there imo. It may be in a great situation with boeing but tbh it doesn’t have great fundies.

BA is the better play being the greatest airplane manufacturer on the planet. Airbus not bad but why buy second best when the goat is on sale?

Take all the cash in your entire lineage… multiply it by 10… put it all into one account… you still don’t have enough to survive playing with airlines, airline suppliers, airline logistics, or even airport traffic control.

Airlines don’t understand how airlines work.

Global aviation rests on Boeing and Airbus so they basically aren’t going anywhere

Your downside is limited imo, but haven’t looked at these enough to comment on potential upside

Whenever anything bad happens in the world, companies in the air industry are the first to go to shit. I hate investing in them with a passion. Most are run like ass, too. Airlines, for example, spent a decade using their extra cash to buy back their shares and when Covid happened they needed to be bailed out because they didn’t have enough cash to stay afloat. That is the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen, and it tells me that they have no clue how to plan for the future.

Best case scenario it doubles in a year. Worst case it halves. Invest in mutual funds and avoid being exposed as a regard.

    7. How do you feel about any corp at the edge of the world recession? ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)![img](emote|t5_2th52|31225)![img](emote|t5_2th52|31226)

    8. If airbus win too much aginst boeing, it will become a monopole. Don’t bet on a monopole, it’s too risky, politics don’t like it, nobody like it.

Bearish on Airbus for now. But, maybe as a super long term play. There will be aircraft controversies, but not enough for alternative transportation. These airlines are backed by the government and it would take substantial pull to make the people get into Airbus. The average person barely uses AI for anything practical. Adaption /=/ innovation

    10. European countries own huge part of AirBus. It’s like a social program for them, that will eat in to the profits. Especially now that AirBus and EU are working on their space program with Arianespace, they already said that it has affected the profits. EU governments will push the company to cut profits in order to take on projects like this, also it is very difficult to reduce workforce and its expensive.

    11. Boeing isn’t going anywhere any time soon. I doubt the current events will make much of a different for air bus. thats not really how to the world works in my opinion. Who knows though, maybe I’m wrong.

    12. I got into Airbus during the pandemic and am up 100%. Pays an ok dividend as well. Im not happy with the recent drop, but its understandable due to the supply chain issues. I would rather have Airbus focus on safe high quality planes than profits. As others mentioned the nature of the industry is just that it isn’t very profit focused and shouldn’t be. That’s where Boeing went wrong and people died.

Imagine naming an airline company after a slow ground based vehicle 😂😂😂

    14. Well they managed at least one good plane crash it has potential. Couldn’t hurt to kill a few people as well ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)![img](emote|t5_2th52|4267)

    15. It is as if there were 2 brothers who seemed serious. One got caught red-handed being a total regard. Chances are, the other one is a bit smarter for not being caught, but probably not the finest apple

    16. they get their titanium from Russia (as does Boeing) and they have a multi-year backlog.

Isnt every single airline and aircraft manufacturing company losing money? This industry makes no sense. Read icculus

    18. It’s important to keep in mind that both Boeing and Airbus are not only about aviation, but also feature defense and space. Two big factors that also have a strong influence on the market perception. For defense stocks in Europe, we’ve seen all-time highs in the past months over and over again, but a slight consolidation kicked in, see for instance Rheinmetall.
