Received a 70% rating in April, current an E-5, I am trying to determine should I waive drill pay all together, or save the money and pay the VA back with said money. Also curious if I were to put 100% in my TSP would I have to still pay that back.

If you’re getting more in va than in drill then I don’t see an upside to taking drill pay. Youd be paying taxes on income for no reason.

You waive VA disability.

You’d waive 4/30ths of your VA disability check for your 2 days of drill(4 days of pay). It only makes financial sense to waive drill pay unless you are under E4 and 100%.
Honestly the best is to put the extra money into a HYSA and then at the end of the year charge it with a 2%+ CC and pay it off. Or make enough in your regular job to absorb the cost anyhow.
