I recently sold my old car and the buyer paid cash, they had already pulled cash out to buy a car with and didn't want to do a Venmo/Zelle/transfer. I am about to PCS and I'm nervous about having this sum of cash on me during that process. I'm also not willing to put it in my HHG for obvious reasons. The USAA website says you can deposit cash at certain ATMs, but the nearest one to my next duty station, which is also the nearest one to my current duty station, is over 1,000 miles away. Surely there's got to be a better way to do this. Any ideas?

How to get cash into a USAA Account?

    1. Imagine you have already thought of this, but I keep a savings account with a local bank for cash deposits, then transfer it to USAA. It’s been handy over the years when selling things to PCS, etc.

    2. Your post office can convert your cash into money orders. Unlimited quantity, $1,000 per money order. Usaa allows mobile deposit on money orders. I’m sure there is an easier way though. Good luck.

    3. I would recommend looking into a brick and mortar bank that is military friendly for this very reason. I have a Chase Bank Military Checking account that I keep a few dollars in and only use it when I sell something and get cash and need to deposit it. Otherwise I just utilize my regular online bank for my pay, checking and savings etc.
