    1. Yeah absolutely ridiculous. The kiddo and I go to Wendy’s (go figure) and drop 25 bucks for two!

    2. where tf is jack in the box??? munchie meals were $6 about a year and a half ago. then they were $8, then $10, then $12. Last I saw they were $13. that’s over 100% increase

You got to use the app at McDonald’s to bring it back down to reasonable prices.

    4. mcd stock has dropped like 12 percent over the last 6 months, it was around 293 a share now its about 247 per share

Remember the dollar menu from 2002-2018 at all fast food chains. From 2019-2024 prices have gone up at least 100%

They’ve been gouging & reached the limit people are willing to spend. Now they’re all rolling out the $5-7 meal deals. I use the apps to order & always get a good deal.

    7. These companies are pricing themselves out of their own customer base. 7$ Chalupa? No thanks

    8. I can get a sandwich and fry from Chick-fil-A for $7.73 but a chicken biscuit and OJ from McD’s is $8.75… if I get a double quarter pounder, it’s over.

    9. How does Panera come out as the good guy here? Their food is shit and portion sizes have def shrinked.

Also you lazy fucking bastards won’t even put cream cheese on my bagel. Wtf am I paying for?

Who eats at Popeyes even? Every time I went there was something wrong. “We’re out of coke, out of fries, out of biscuits” or the chicken was super stale and nasty. And they dare raise the prices while providing abysmal quality? Delusional

I just popped in to grab a Gatorade at the gas station last night and it was OVER 4 dollars… like no thanks I’ll drink water. Who the hell is buying this stuff? It means drinks have literally doubled in like 3 years.

What were the average food prices of each of these companies in 2014? It’s possible companies with lower %increase in this image were gouging consumers 10 years ago and didn’t need to increase their prices as much… or maybe not, I’m not going through the data to find out.

A table or a second set of bars showing average food cost for each company in 2014 would be a good comparison to include, though.

Additionally, maybe it’s a good thing that prices (of garbage food that has undoubtedly contributed to the obesity problem in the US) are now causing people to look for alternative, potentially healthier food options.

    13. I’m happy this has happened. Maybe this will promote better eating habits in America. A lot of people eat fast food because it is cheap and quick. If fast food becomes as expensive as quality/healthy food, maybe people will start eating healthier.
