Checking my app looking through insider trades haven’t seen anyone talk about this yet. Initially I thought it was just part of his stake but he dropped the entire position.

for a second I thought that was my bank account. how embarrassing that would have been

    2. Berkshire still holds 998,961,079 shares of BoFA.

Probably trimming to open a new position or increase in another company.

EDIT*BUFFET DID NOT SELL ENTIRE STAKE “After these sales, Berkshire Hathaway’s remaining stake in Bank of America consists of 998,961,079 shares. It should be noted that the shares are owned by various subsidiaries of Berkshire Hathaway, as detailed in the footnotes of the SEC filing. The subsidiaries range from insurance companies to financial institutions, each holding a portion of the total shares without double counting within the conglomerate’s complex ownership structure.”

A measly 999 million shares, what is Berkshire going to do with that sort of pocket change?!

Last time he trimmed the Apple and Apple just flew through the roof. Will it happen to BAC?

    7. Berkshire needs to keep their ownership stake in banks below 10% or they become a bank holding company that is subject to extra reporting they want to avoid.
So this is probably just trimming their ownership to stay below that limit.
