Hello all,
I have some questions to see if I'm setting myself up for success.
Without giving too much info, I am a 20M college student on a 4 Year ROTC scholarship (6k per semester for room/board). I am also enlisted in the Guard through SMP. I am in ZERO debt. Currently:
- I get 420 cadet stipend (Tax Free)
- e5/CDT Drill pay 389
- MISC 720 when school starts (Tax Free)
Here is my questions
- I have set up a ROTH IRA with Schwab and have invested into SWPPX. I have around 1.3K in that account. My plan is to contribute at least 300 a month. Is this sustainable and should I be looking into more diversification.
- For my TSP, I just started getting the agency match. They invest into a traditional, I put 5% into a ROTH investing in the C-Fund. Should I do something different?
- I started my credit history around 3 months ago with a secured card through USAA. I have signed up and got approved for the Sams Club World Elite MasterCard What are my next steps if any to make sure I get the max cash back that is attainable for me
- Last question, I am saving up for a car, once the car is purchased, the account will be used as a separate HYSA so I can not easily access it at Marcus. Should I do something different?
Any and all help is a appreciated!
