If he’s 100% disabled for over ten years, or if he dies because of a service connected condition then his spouse or dependents may be entitled to monthly compensation. If you are a college student you may qualify for Chapter 35 education benefits depending upon your age and/or when he was awarded 100%, which would also give you a monthly check while attending college
