So currently I have just moved to Alaska, and I am here in the dorms in JBER. I am grossing close to 2300 a month with my current pay. I will receive a $2000 bonus and a lump sum of around $1100 monthly for BAS 2 and Cola +. I also have $6000 in savings and another $5000 in assets.
My question is, how can I save more effectively? I just purchased a vehicle with a $8000 down payment and took out a $7000 loan with a 9.29% interest rate. I have a 733 credit score and only 1 credit card with 5% being invested into my TSP. I pay $141 monthly for my car and another $202 for my auto insurance.
I am going to speak with finance later this week on creating a budget and working on how to save money. I was just wondering if anybody had any advice on how I can create steps so that I may be better with my money while living in Alaska. I was also wondering how I can do better with my money given the stats in my post.
What steps should I take to maximize how much money I make for a junior airman living in the dorms in JBER
