I am 7 years active service and I plan on doing 20. I am looking to work toward my masters and I am curious on what the best way to use my benefits. The tuition is well within being covered by just GI bill. The best route I have found so far is to combine my TA and use the Top-Up program with MGIB. Then use 36 months worth of MGIB and apply for 12 more months of post 9/11. Can someone confirm if this is the best and verify if I can still apply for 12 months of 9/11.

Don’t forget about the Yellow Ribbon Program which varies by school.

If you still need more financing after all of that or plan on getting even more degrees, I think you can negotiate CLRP in your reenlistment contract, and you qualify for PSLF if you plan on 13 more years before retirement.
