Pulling out of my TSP early

Hi everyone, not your typical user here I imagine but I did a Summer internship with the Navy in 2023 and I have some TSP contributions that I am now considering pulling out to pay for my final year of college.

I am aware there is a penalty, but I don't think I mind it so much. Is this a silly idea, and if so, what's the alternative? I honestly don't even know how much is in the TSP since I have yet to set the account up, but if I recall correctly it was like $1,500 late 2023.

Is it easy to just withdraw it into a bank account; and the penalty is 10% right?
