Manger: “The return to earth fully automated software isn’t ready, but we don’t need it because we have ‘bio-robots’ on board that can push the return to earth button. Therefore we should remove the automation software until it is ready, and if needed we can always upload it while on orbit.”
Software Engineer: “You want to launch humans into space with incomplete and untested software!? I quit!”
Manager: “Boss we’ve realized a cost savings in the organization and we managed to launch on-time!”
Boss: “Great job! Take some extra holiday this summer to celebrate your accomplishments!”

    2. The moment the engineering company announced the “believe” you know they are fked. This word should not be used in the context of extreme precision high tech engineering.

At this rate the astronauts will still be there when the station is decommissioned and can ride down with it “Dr. Strangelove” style.

    4. To add insult to injury, the Boeing turd doesn’t have autopilot to descend back to earth by itself.

Le Monde says, “Boeing fuckups are so common now, they are considering reincorporating in France where they’ll fit in better.”

    6. I got 100€ worth of Boeing puts last week and it was at 300€ 2 hours ago but some idiots are still buying this stupid company

At this point it’s more of a headliner in news reports than Starliner. And for all wrong reasons.

    8. Imagine taking a week long space trip just to find out you’ll be stuck there for 1% of your adult life.

      Bullish.
If the contract is cost plus basis, Nasa will have to cough up more for the extra man-days Boeing incurred to solve this issue.

Funny how everyone from experts in the field to everyday folk saw it coming, yet the sociopathic C suites and executives at Boeing still has the audacity to act all surprised that they stranded the astronauts in space. BA is probably going to force the astronauts to sign a NDA which includes absolving BA of any liability and legal consequences before they’re willing to ask NASA to help bring them back

    11. I’d say they should switch to making ashtrays, but they would probably just catch on fire.

The balls on those astronauts to get in a Boeing spacecraft after software and thruster issues in the past.

      Wow.

    13. AcceptableCoyote9080 on

they should cut their losses and let that thing burn up in the atmosphere and get spacex to rescue the two stranded astronauts…

    14. Puts on Boeing. They’ve completely shredded their reputation in the past year, and you’re telling me that their stock is as valuable as it was in 2020 back when most were blissfully ignorant about how bad their leadership was?

    15. Bad for the Boeing…good for the other private sector space companies that keep having successes. Rocket Lab earnings after the bell today and they just keep on having successful launches. Next one scheduled for Sunday.

      >Test pilots Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams were supposed to only do a quick trip to the International Space Station, it may turn into an eight-month stay if they have to switch from Boeing to SpaceX for a ride to Earth.

      SpaceX to save the day.
